Silence sank into the Mexican standoff between the two opposing forces in the Police Station. Just then, the ground beneath Bane's men started to tremble. It soon turned violent, rising up from the ground and moving backwards causing the soldiers to fall right back into the Chief's office, the hole in the wall closing over and providing no way out for the men now that the door was destroyed.
The three vans outside would begin to sink into the ground as it became like quicksand. The soldiers would soon follow suit as there was nowhere for them to go. Seconds later the window of the police station would shatter as Gaia came in atop her platform now hovering between the two groups, her eyes focused on Bane.
“You look like a lucha libre. What's wrong, wrestling not paying as well as you thought?”
Vines shot out of Gaia's palms and grabbed Jehanne to snatch her away from Bane's grasp so his only leverage over Kragen and Garrus would be taken away. |

Bruce was enjoying the show, Kansas seemed to have quite a lot of interesting events. Bruce had only been here for two days and already he got to witness what looked like an army attacking the police station. They didn't seem like a normal army in the least, They seemed to be wearing some sort of advanced armour infact, their armour seemed to provide more protection than Bruce's Ares armour. Bruce still sat calmly on a roof top fully dressed in his Armour. things only got more intense when a pair of heroes stepped in, one of them looking like an alien of some sort.
The local police force was being annihilated by the forces of a large man in a mask. No doubt this would surely leave the people of this city in a state of panic, Watching people you thought would protect you being slaughtered probably left people highly unsettled. Luckily the two heroes seemed to hold their own against the large man's forces and managed to enter the building to help the police.Then out of the blue appeared a woman that seemed to have the ability to make the earth do her bidding. She shook and re-shaped it to her whim and managed to turn the road into something that resembled quicksand, she also walked into the police station after dealing with the masked man's vans. No doubt the inside of that station must have been littered with dead bodies. Bruce's reason for being in Kansas was a series of missions but he had to deviate slightly. The mercenary wanted to have a look at what sort of fire power the police around here had, Thanks to the large masked man the police were greatly weakened this would make the mercenary's job much easier. Bruce figured he owed the masked man for that atleast.
Bruce quickly jumped off the roof top aiming to fall ontop of a car. He had hit his mark but the roof of the car slightly caved in and Bruce landed with perfect form, he had managed to watch more than his fair share of gymnastic events and with his mimicry ability he could easily copy everything he had seen. Bruce then walked towards the police station quickly activating his armour's stealth mode which rendered him invisible to those that didn't have a superhuman sense of smell. Bruce had been in there in time to see vines whipping out of the female hero's wrists and grab a hostage from the masked man's clutches. Bruce had to admit that the female hero's quip about wrestling forced him to hold back a chuckle, He knew his stealth mode would automatically deactivate for charging any minute so he drew his sword and quickly cut the vines then pushed the hostage back towards the large masked man. Using the fact that his stealth mode was still active Bruce quickly entered another room that was close enough to make sure that he could still hear and keep up with the action. He then deactivated his stealth mode and waited for it to recharge while he sat out of view in a room near the chief's office.Armour's Stealth mode needs to recharge for 2 turns so Bruce cannot use stealth mode until it is done with that process. What a coward. Hiding behind a woman when the enemy has the slightest advantage over you. In truth, Garrus was outnumbered even with Kragen by his side, but he faced worse odds than this before, and there were plenty of places left in the station to use as cover. That all changed when the ground began to shake and Gaia came bursting in through the window to save the hostage. They weren't kidding about the superheroes in this town. Garrus passed his sniper rifle to Kragen and rushed forward knowing that he would have his back, just as the vines were cut by a mysterious force and Jehanne kicked, the turian swept in to grab her only seconds before she could be reunited with the clutches of Bane giving the Ex-Soldier a free shot on the masked man. "How nice of you to join us, Gaia."
Bane's calm demeanor never left him even as the odds quickly shifted in the enemy's favor, for even this has been foreseen by the masked man. The soldiers trapped on the other side of the wall activated their back packs, and the venom that was installed inside of it pumped through their veins and increased their strength and muscle mass twice their normal size.
The wall behind Bane was soon smashed in and the soldiers came flooding out, charging each warrior in the room using their bare fists with enough strength to even rival that of Superwoman. The men stuck in quicksand did the same, and ripped out of it abandoning the vans and entering the police station now attacking the group from all sides.

Of all the people to show up and save her, it just had to be the one woman she despised. Jehanne almost wanted to chuckle when the vines broke, not aware it was done by outside forces, and went tumbling back to Bane until the alien grabbed her. She felt like a ball of some kind being tossed back and forth. She finally had enough of it and broke out of Garrus' grip in time for Bane's men to come crashing through the wall and more of them through the entrance. All Jehanne could do was run deeper into the prescient as she knew her weapons already had no effect on them.

Kragen was ready to take the shot until the wall collapsed and he refocused his attention on Bane's men unloading with the Krysae. Cover was no longer optional as the men would just flip it over with their new found strength and keep attacking. Realizing their situation, Kragen began to move around the area firing in both directions that the men were coming from.

That was strange. Gaia's vines never just broke like that. It was almost as if somebody cut them, but who? How? There was no time to think about that as the wall behind Bane came crashing down with a bunch of literal muscle men.
“I see the WWE Wellness Policy is as effective as it always been.”
When one of the men got close enough to Gaia, a plant sprouted out of her arm and released a powerful sleeping powder from it to knock the man out.
“Go to sleep!”
Gaia steered her platform over to Garrus and hovered next to him while looking around at the chaos. There was little place for her to maneuver on the platform, and even fewer places for her to really utilize her abilities without doing more damage to the building.

Bruce noticed that the hostage was snatched away by an alien before it got to the masked man. all of a sudden the walls were broken down by the masked man's soldiers who seemed to have grown to the exact size of the masked man and some had even become slightly larger. Normal men had turned into hulking creatures in a matter of seconds probably due to some type of super steroid. Bruce peaked from the room he was in just in time to watch the female superhero do her thing and one of the other heroes release rapid fire on the masked man's soldiers. this time instead of sprouting normal vines the female hero released poisonous plants. Bruce calmly walked out of the room he was in with his arms crossed and released a few chuckles due to the female's constant Wrestling quips." Let's just be glad no one is wearing overly tight underwear and trying to pin people. Bruce could see that the odds were stacked against the heroes.
"all merriment aside,Why not quit while you're ahead?" Bruce looked towards all three heroes and the ex hostage. He wasn't quite sure what would happen so he didn't act in a brash manner instead he remained calm and ready for an attack reguardless of what side the attack would come from.

Wait! We need to stay together! No good, Jehanne wasn't having any of it. Not that Garrus could blame her. The turian went back to firing with his sniper rifle at the surrounding men who were now nothing but muscle. Looked like the rumors they followed about the Venom drug was true and Bane had mass produced it. The muscles were only made all the worse when you added the alien armor on top of it. Bane definitely knew what he was doing. Garrus Vakarian
If you have any ideas I'm all ears. Garrus turned to the new armored man on the scene. Either he was stationed there the whole time or he was really good at sneaking. Could it be possible somebody here had access to stealth cameo? Garrus Vakarian
I have a better idea. You stand down! You might have been able to cut off communications with the outside, but all this fire fighting is going to bring in reinforcement sooner or later. |

Bane picked up the Phaeston that Jehanne dropped during their struggle and used his other hand to flip over a table into Kragen, bringing up the weapon and firing three shot bursts to Garrus and Gaia within seconds between each other. One of Bane's soldiers gave chase to Jehanne as the man himself advanced on Garrus and Gaia.
"Then we will break them."
He didn't fear reinforcement coming. The police was already broken and panic would soon take over the people as they lost faith in law enforcement, and when they find their heroes fell by Bane they would soon lose faith in them. Then who would they have left? The mayor? The mere thought was amusing.

All Jehanne could do was run. Run as fast as she can to get away from the freak that was now chasing her. Thankfully, a career of chasing bad guys down the street made running come as second nature to her. She knew if that man caught up with her now it was all over. Somebody from this prescient had to survive. May as well be her. As futile as it may have been, Jehanne fired off more shots from her Beretta at the man while she ran away. Hoping that it would at least slow the man down so she can escape.

Kragen got hit by the table and fell to the ground. He quickly slid out from under it and rolled out of the way of the super soldier who slammed his arms into the floor creating a crack across it. The Ex-Soldier stood to his feet and quickly stepped to the side of the larger man who charged at him, causing him to crash right through the wall into the other room. What the man didn't know was that Kragen snuck a C4 onto his back and set it off as soon as he entered the new room blowing him sky high. Even alien shields had its limits.

Gaia tilted her platform to the side and moved out of the way of the bullets. That was when she noticed the big guy going after Jehanne and collapsed the ground beneath him so he'd fall through to the basement, closing the hole soon after and reinforcing it and the rest of the floor in the hall so the man couldn't just break through effortlessly. That should buy Jehanne all the time in the world to get out.
The explosion made Gaia spin around to see one of Bane's thugs get the axe. She didn't like that so much. She knew they were bad, but still. Gaia was strictly anti-killing like most superheroes. Seeing the other explosives on Kragen's belt she snatched them away on her roots and held them in her hands.
“Are you trying to get us all killed?”
Gaia shot out another string of roots from her free hand, these wrapped around the barrier of Bane's gun and twisted it to render it useless. Alien gun or not, weapons needed a way to eject its ammunition or they were useless. Period. Gaia continued to hover through the building, avoiding the soldiers as she made her way for the entrance.

Garrus was hit dead on with the Phaeston; his blue energy shield appearing all around him upon impact with the bullets before he could duck down behind one of the other tables for cover. Taking out his own Phaeston assault rifle, he slowly rose out of cover and unleashed powered shots of his own at Bane and the rest of his army and moved further away from the onslaught to cut Bane off at the entrance if he went after Gaia. Didn't look like the hero appreciated Kragen's explosives all that much. The turian didn't have time to explain to her the importance of leaving Kragen's stuff alone.

Bane continued his march forward, the shields holding out thanks to the tweaking Bane did with the technology once he acquired them. Bane's men spread out through the police station with a divide and conquer strategy. Two men on Kragen, two men on Garrus, and another two men going in the direction Jehanne went into. The man in the basement coming back up the long way around to rejoin the fight. Bane himself followed Gaia outside to the entrance of the police station and raised the missile launcher at Gaia and fired. The ML-17 was equipped with seeking missiles that would follow the target until impact was confirmed. There was no escape.
